My main interest lies in travelling to and trekking through remote and mountainous regions of the world, and I usually take only a small compact camera. Nevertheless, I will happily grab any opportunity for a good photograph. I have been privileged to visit some amazing places, with incredible landscapes and fascinating people, and I hope that some of this is conveyed in the photographs of this collection.
To those who have struggled with them, the mountains reveal beauties that they will not disclose to those who make no effort. That is the reward the mountains give to effort. And it is because they have so much to give and give it so lavishly to those who will wrestle with them that men love the mountains and go back to them again and again.

Photographs on this site which were taken before 2005 have been scanned from slides (Kodachrome 64, Ektachrome 25, Fuji Velvia), using a flatbed Epson scanner, generally at 3200 dpi, and then post-processed using Photoshop.
In addition to this collection of photos on Flickr you may wish to look at the following websites that I maintain:
• Travel Blog: a series of short reports on several trips, with maps and additional details about the trekking routes.
