I'm a freelance entomologist and lecturer, formerly senior invertebrate ecologist and then senior education officer for English Nature/Natural England, and my main interest these days is communicating wildlife and wild places, especially via insects and other invertebrates, to kids, students and those who work with, and influence them.

PHOTOGRAPHY
I supply wildlife (especially invertebrate) species and habitat pictures widely for publication, sometimes charging, sometimes not, depending on the organization and use. However, I do like to keep a record of how my pictures are used, so if you want use anything from my Flickr collections, do please get in touch.
More of my pictures are visible on the Arkive www.arkive.org/ ,UKBAP www.ukbap.org.uk/species.aspx and www.ukbap.org.uk/habitats.aspx and Coleopterists' www.coleopterist.org.uk/ websites.
See below for a list of publishers and organizations who have used my photos.
LECTURING/TRAINING/COURSEWORK
I have many 'set' lectures - again sometimes for expenses, sometimes for a fee, depending on the nature of the group - see end of my profile for a list of available titles. These can be tailored to requirements and I can discuss new titles.
FIELD EVENTS
Training and field leader in various invertebrate and other natural history field-craft skills and field identification events and courses.
CHILDREN'S MINIBEAST SAFARIS
(all ages, right up to PhD level!)
Land, freshwater and sea-shore. I would normally only charge incurred expenses for children's events. I have been CRB checked for working with children, but might need rechecking for working with other organizations unless individual checking comes in as predicted in 2010.
TV & RADIO
I have undertaken extensive TV & Radio work, mainly with the BBC, having presented invertebrate and other Natural History pieces on, among others, The Countryside Hour, Langley Country, Countyfile, the Really Wild Show, and Radio 4's Natural History Programme and Home Planet. Special appearance on the Christmas Day edition of 'Auntie's Bloomers'!
