I am an enthusiastic amateur who takes photos of wildlife, scenery, some flowers and anything else that takes my fancy. Love northern lights. I also used to take photos underwater but gave up SCUBA diving in April 2025.

I was a SCUBA diver since 1971 and enjoyed both UK diving as well as warmer places for 53 years. Now a hobby that has had to be stopped.

Am an amateur bookbinder/repairer.

On the surface I was using a Canon 7d Mk2 with a 100-400mm Mk2 as my primary lens but with a 15-85mm wide angle and other lenses. After buying the 7D Mk2 I found that it is very susceptible to weather. Despite being less than a year old, when caught in rain, water got into the body and it cost me £500 to have it repaired. Canon invalidated the warranty! So much for their Web site claim about "When conditions take a turn for the worse, carry on shooting with confidence". I always carry a rain sleeve now.

Now mirrorless with two Canon R6 Mk2 bodies.

Underwater I used to use a Recsea housing with a Canon S100 and a Sea and Sea strobe.
