As a child, I loved being creative, so it was no surprise that I was fascinated by the black and white photo prints my father made. When he switched to video in the late 1980s, I could use his Minolta SLR. A few years and camera's later I became a member of the local Photo club. This was a great stimulation for my creativity. I learned to develop film and prints myself, participated in competitions and exhibitions and traveled all over the world with bags full off photo equipment. A few times my pictures won prizes, but the best compliment was during an exhibition. There, a window was smashed, only to steal my self-printed portrait of a local beauty. It is still a mystery where the photo ended up.

By experimenting a lot, my knowledge of photography was very broad. This gave me the opportunity to teach photography and Photoshop at the "Volks" university. One of the students showed more interest in the teacher than in photography. So we traveled together for a few years, got married and now we are raising a son. Therefore, travel to exotic locations is somewhat limited. But you can also take beautiful photos closer to home. I also shoot nature, concerts and sometimes I switch to infra-red with my self-converted Nikon D200. Besides that, I also practice a more challenging form of photography; Urban Exploration (Urbex for short). I photograph deserted locations with friends, often abroad. A bit of travelling again :-)
