Here at RocksInMyHead, we have always loved rocks. We love anything that has to do with rocks. Over the years that has evolved into minerals, fossils, and precious metals, too. And that means we are outdoors alot... and I do mean ALOT. That, too, plays a role in what RocksInMyHead has evolved to. We have been traveling for over 20 years. And, boy have things changed in those 20 years.

We started out as lapidarists and silversmiths, traveling around the country from show to show, living on the road, and loving it. We worked hard collecting rocks, cutting and polishing, producing pieces, keeping a show schedule, setting up and breaking down. But we played hard, too. We took plenty of time in the midst of the "busyness" to hike, paddle, climb, and explore- to enjoy nature and all her glory. After all, life is too short to ever stop playing. And we are still playing today, because somewhere in there, in all the playing, we found our soul. We found the peace and the harmony that the world wants to steal. And that peace and harmony is what life is about for us here at RocksInMyHead.

Over time, things like the internet became a big part of life, and things like solar power and wind power made it easier to be self-sufficient. And we learned that other people wanted what we had- the freedom, the happiness, the lack of stress, the calmness of spirit that comes with living a balanced life, a life more in harmony with the universe.

And we realized how special that was, especially in today's world.

And so, we have come to the place where we are more than just rocks. More than just rockhounds who bring home rocks, polish them, and then sell them to people. We are a lifestyle- a lifestyle of peacefulness and beauty in a world of chaos, ugliness, and pain. We can paddle a river or a lake, or climb a mountain, or backpack through the wilderness- and we can share that with the rest of the world. We can share it through our rocks, our gold, our fossils, and our stories. We can harness the power of the sun and the wind, and show others how it will work for them. We can leave behind the materialism and dependency of civilization, and return to the simplicity and self-sufficiency of our ancestors- and we can lead by example.

So here at RocksInMyHead, we really are about way more than just rocks. We are about the earth. We are about freedom. We are about life, unencumbered by the ways of the world, so that we can live it to the fullest. After all, life is too short to not stop and smell the roses. And while you're at it, pick up a few rocks to polish, or grab a gold pan and sit in a stream. Whatever. Just go outside and play. Enjoy the sun on your skin and the wind in your hair. Smell the flowers. Feel the soil on your toes. Listen to the birds. Get dirty. Relish in the forest, or the mountains, or the desert, or the ocean. Let the water lap your toes, and the rain cleanse your soul. Dance with the earth, and she will embrace you.
