Dad, husband, lap for the cat, and traffic signal engineer.

I graduated from the University of Washington with a BSCE in 1993. I passed the Professional Engineer exams on the first try in 2000.

I have worked as a construction inspector, civil designer, traffic engineer, now as a traffic signal engineer. I have lots of experience running software like EMME/2, TModel2, VisSim, VisSum, Synchro / SimTraffic, Naztec Streetwise, Econolite Aries, Traconet, LM System, and many others. I am currently working to bring online a Naztec ATMS.now central system. That is really interesting, after working with Traconet and LM System for so long. It is really nice to find that most of the things that I want are wrapped up in a single (VERY expensive) software package.

I have extensive experience running multiple generations of Naztec, Traconex, Peek, LMD, and Econolite traffic signal controllers. I even had some VS-Plus controllers in the field... You get a special prize if you have any idea of what that short lived experiment was. I have worked on 170's with Wapiti software, but that was a long time ago. I much prefer the newer, more robust equipment.

I am implementing Ethernet over fiber and copper communications networks for traffic signals.

Formerly, I was in the US Army as a 54B NBC (Nuclear, Biological Chemical).

I was a Rotary Exchange Student to Corrigin, West Australia during my junior year of high school. Really cool thing to do! It was an amazing experience to take 40 pounds of luggage, plus a carry on, and go live in a foreign country for an entire year just about 3 weeks after I turned 16.

I build robots with my son for fun. I have coached Lego Robotics teams at my son's elementary school for 3 years.
