Like many I've had an interest in photography for a long time, I guess stemming from my fathers interest, but never managed to get beyond the point, shoot and hope, taking films down to the local chemist.

With the advent of digital cameras still couldn't justify the expense of a quality camera, until recently, when I purchased a Sony Alpha 200 with a twin lens kit. I wasn't totally happy with the camera, so a couple of years later, upgraded to a Pentax K5.

To be fair to the Sony, the softness I was experiencing with the images was due in large to using picassa to process the raw images, installing a trial version of lightroom the images were 100% better but by this time the Sony was sadly sold.
