Robert's command of a wide range of media is clearly evident in his Flickr photostream, which consistently provides me with inspiration and enjoyment. His paintings are bold, dynamic images with influences from Fauvism that in no way invalidate their originality. In fact, Robert's strong personality exudes from his paintings, and indeed all of his work. I really like his collages too. These carefully executed compositions are attractive and interesting; they can both amuse and shock, and they never disappoint. Robert is a talented individual with a genuinely modest demeanour, well known for his generously supportive attitude towards other artists (not least here on Flickr, where he has regularly bolstered my spirits with his kind compliments and intelligent insights), myself included. I am proud to be contact of Robert's and look forward to fresh surprises from him in future. He is worthy of commercial success and professional recognition he undoubtedly receives. Whenever I look at dear Roberts photostream i automatically am inspired. His vibrant colours, his genius & his accurate portraits surely must put Robert as New York City`s number one artist! You could say I am biased but this is not the case! The more I study Roberts work, the more I feel inspired to paint more myself. Who normally would put a splash of green above a nose or a stripe of of purple beneath a mouth? Robert does and it works! An inspiration to artists and art lovers throughout the world: Robert deserves many awards & I personally feel he should be world renown over and over for his most inspiring of artworks! Robert's unique constellation of character traits, talents and consistency of quality output are inspirational to me as a friend and colleague and a frequent beneficiary of his support, his generosity and thoughtfulness. While I would say I'm pretty much hardcore, down-to-earth kind of guy, there are moments when Robert's words, pictures, or sensibilities show up like an angel to me. I'm not kidding when I say that I have trouble picking favs from Robert's work, because if I faved everything that I really like, I'd fave the lot. Whether reducing the human face to just a few gestures that penetrate the being of his subject and say more than a literal account of the surface could say; or composing glimpses of the fractal nature of existence with paper or paint, Robert arrests the viewer (this viewer, anyway) and compells an answer to the question: Who are you, and what do you really want to be/do?
