I was born in Newark, Nottinghamshire over fifty years ago and have enjoyed taking photographs for most of that time. My uncle James is the one to blame for this now obsession. From that same younger time, I have also loved travelling about whether it be by car or train and more recently by plane. Occasionally, it has been by boat, but as I suffer from seasickness, this latter form of transport does not feature in my travels much...

With this obsession of travel and photography, my interest in railways came about when I was about 7 or 8 which coincided together, so a large proportion of my photographs were railway related which in recent times now stretches me to Europe and new places.... I have travelled in 18 different countries. Now on the hunt to record ever changing scenes for comparison from better times....and I use Flickr as well as other sites for inspiration!
