I'm 82 years old, and am a retired (1989) Eastman Kodak staff photographer living in Rochester, New York. Originally a product of film and chemical photography, I was quick to make the change to digital and still enjoy seeking images of interest, be they family or otherwise. Having spent hundreds of hours in darkrooms over the years, I've found that the computer and Photoshop Elements give me greater creative pleasure. I must admit that most of my Flickr images originated on film, but that certainly makes them any less important than those I've made using digital cameras.
Whatever the means of original capture, I truly enjoy sharing my pictures with others. That's why I joined Flickr. My photostream has images from my early days working in Chicago when I would do street photography on my lunch hour ("Street Kids"); some from my newspaper days in Naperville, IL; a number from my 25 years at Kodak ("She Will Not Forget"); and many made since my retirement in 1989. I hope you'll enjoy them all. Many are from film originals that I scanned as JPEGs.
I'm still active in my lifetime hobby of building and flying free flight model airplanes (no outside control; mostly rubber band-powered) and have most certainly learned and enjoyed history- especially that of World War II- that I ever did in the various history classes that mostly bored me in high school and college. My sense of humor prevents me, thankfully, from taking much of life too seriously. My lovely wife, Bernadette (my favorite model), and I have been married for nearly 59 years and have two sons and four grandchildren. We first met at the University of Illinois in the fall of 1953.
