We raise money through our only fund raiser "Run for the Son" to buy and give away motorcycles. We present the motorcycles to local pastors in foreign lands in remote areas to aid in their church planting and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world to fulfill the Great Commision (Matthew 28:16-20). We also reach bikers for Christ through local & regional events involving motorcyclists. To learn more about CMA you can visit the National website at www.CMAUSA.org. If you live in the Wilmington NC area, you can attend our local CMA Knights of the Light Chapter meetings on the 1st Thursday of each month, McAlister's Deli, 740 South College Road, Wilmington NC.

I am retired from the nuclear power industry. I got my start in the US Navy for six years, 1970-1976. I was an electronics technician and a nuclear reactor operator assigned to the USS Nimitz CVN-68 nuclear aircraft carrier. After training I was assigned to the ship while it was under construction in Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. in Virginia. I worked along shipyard workers building and starting up the two nuclear reactors propulsion system for the ship. After military service, I was on staff at Virginia Tech Blacksburg VA operating their Research & Test Reactor as a senior reactor operator while I was a student in the electrical engineering department for five years. After university time, I spent the rest of my career working in various engineering capacities traveling all over the country working at nuclear power plants under construction & startup in the 1980's & 1990's during the power plant buildout phase. The USA peaked with 110 nuclear reactors operating at one point by the turn of the century. There are now 99 reactors operating due to decommissioning the oldest plants at end-of-life and no new construction in the past 24 years with the exception of two in Georgia that started up recently. The last 21 years of my career I was at Duke Energy Brunswick Nuclear Plant located in the beautiful coastal NC town of Southport. I worked in Major Projects engineering group working on upgrade projects to keep the plant running in it's senior life until I retired in 2021. The plant was started up in 1975 and continues to successfully operate providing a couple billion watts of power to southeast NC keeping the lights on for everyone.
