My name is Dennis, I live in southeast Pennsylvania in the rolling hills of sprawling suburbia between Reading and Philadelphia, birthplace of Our Nation. I have an interest in all things old and/or historic: roads, buildings cemeteries; and all things nature: scenery, sunsets/rises, plants, animals (I will brake to avoid any living thing...chipmunks, turtles, deer, even moths fluttering on the road...(lol, well, if i see them in time...moths, that is). I am 48, married with 7 grown 1 almost grown kids....5 grandkids...6 step-grandkids, etc. I grew up in a house built in 1719 that was an inn at the time of the revolutionary war, just 500 yards down the road from a makeshift hospital for the soldiers from Valley Forge (at the former German Reformed Church). It is documented that General Washington spent many nights there after visiting his sick and wounded soldiers, so you might say from an early age i developed an interest in local and Early American History....I am also interested in how many colonial and post-colonial homes have fallen into disrepair and abandonment. They are a part of our shared heritage, no matter if someone famous lived there or not, and I try to document them, and the mood of loss they convey to me.
