Photography; I have been practicing this art for more than three decades and the more I practice it, I realize everything in photography comes down to one word: vision.

Call it imagination, or seeing, or plain old vision; it all comes down to the same thing: the ability to envision a final result in your mind's eye, and then to make it so with your tools at hand.

It's never been about the gear. It's always been about seeing something, knowing how you want it to look, and making it so. Making it so is the easy part; seeing it in the first place is what makes a photographer. Powers of observation are everything. Snapping a camera is trivial.

The word "photography" comes from the French photographie which is based on the Greek words phos ("light"), and graphis ("stylus", "paintbrush") or graphê ("representation by means of lines" or "drawing"), together meaning "drawing with light." So; I like "drawing with light" and practice it every chance I get.

So, much like my choice of music (which is all over the map), Photography; well I'm all over the map on this art too. Meaning if you take the time to look at my photo's, you will see that my interest lies in many areas and realm's of photography...not just one very specific type or style of photographing, but many types and styles. I love them all.

it is the one thing, that I feel, is represented best by using a camera and a very fast shutter speed and producing a picture, something you can see happening before you and you know it happened, but you really couldn't see all the things that happen while it happening. But photography will freeze that precise moment in time, delivering a visual image that stops time and space...pretty cool, huh! So, check it out and if you have something to add, please do so...
