I've been interested in and photographed almost all modes of transport, both road and rail since the mid 1980's. Prior to photography l was more of a number cruncher and regret not photographing more of my local routes around when l was in my early teen years which included the London DMS, RM, RT double deck classes as well as the single deck RFs and AEC Swifts.

We were also fortunate where l was brought up to not only have red London buses but also the green of Eastern National passing the top of the road on services between Central London and the Essex coast with their Bristol FLFs on the 151, 251 and X10 and later on Bristol VRs on service 400. When London said farewell to the RT type on the 7th April 1979, l was fortunate to have paid £7.50 to ride a bus in the final cavalcade on the 62, the last route that the type operated with the bus that l was on stalling on Hog Hill in Hainault. Unfortunately l was sitting upstairs at the front and wasn't able to join in by pushing it from behind.

I was also outside Brixton Garage in 2005 to witness the last Routemaster in normal London service pass by (RM54) though should have been RM2217. I'd already photographed RM2217 at Marble Arch, turning at Oxford Circus and arriving at Brixton Garage shortly before RM54 drove past.

During the Olympics and Paralympics in 2012 we had buses and coaches appearing locally from all parts of the UK including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland from a whole host of operators to add to the variety, from bus and coach companies large and small. Others were photographed at the hubs created in East London for the various Olympic/Paralympic services provided for the athletes.

I've also an interest in Aircraft. We moved house recently and live under what is known as the Lambourne Circuit with planes heading for London Heathrow from Europe and beyond, basically anything that comes across the Essex coast. We're also under the path of Aircraft from London's City Airport as well as light aircraft from the nearby North Weald and Stapleford Abbotts airfields- I do like the sound of a Spitfire passing overhead. I'm also quite interested in human art.

Wildlife is also on the interest as we get quite a variety of birds in our garden. In the property where we lived when my kids were small we would get regular visits of Sparrow Hawks with two photographed in the garden on kills. I've installed bird feeders which attracts a whole host of smaller birds as well as magpies which have developed the act of extracting nuts and pigeons also which go for both nuts and fat balls. We also get both green and lesser spotted woodpeckers quite often as well as parakeets and various members of the crow family. As for squirrels, they can't get to the nuts. There's also loads of foxes with visits almost every hour through out the day including fox cubs when they appear.

My greatest involvement todate was being a part owner of former London Routemaster RML2323 CUV323C when this first entered preservation having finished its working life in London on the 73 route. I was fortunate to be able to drive this to various events during my association with this vehicle.

I'm also a very keen Arsenal supporter and have been for over 50 years now since the age of 8.
