I'm strange to those who are normal and normal to those who are strange; quite frankly-I'm happy with the latter!

I took my 1st photo as an amateur photogapher in about October last year (2010). Since then, I've developed a craving for it! I'm always looking to break the rules and think outside of the box-not sure if I've succeeded yet! Of the hundreds of pics I've uploaded so far, I still haven't managed 'the one' but isn't it all subjective?

Most of my pics have been taken on my trusty little Kodak compact...and it's been a great learning tool, ready for making the step up to a bridge or DSLR.

Following on (many years after) from my dad, David C Rio, he was once the chairman of the MPA (Master Photographers Association) and one of the country's top wedding photographers through the 80's and early 90's.

I guess photography is just a natural extention of my creativity. I was always good at art, and went on to become a songwriter and musician; I learned German, and then became a conlanger-that is, I invent fantasy languages and dialects as well as creating writing systems.

Am I a photographer? Not sure....I take a pic then create an image from it.
