I hadn‘t been long on Flickr when I came across a photostream that was just too good to be true. And yet it was true. Rita simply has incredible talent for all things visual. An artist in the best and fullest meaning of word. I envy people who are going through Rita‘s photostream for the first time. Only zombies would not be inspired. No, strike that - even zombies would be inspired.

I don't know Rita personally, but have been viewing her work for a couple of years now. I must say her style is elegant, composed, and always pushing the envelope of creativity. I have had the pleasure of being included into some of her groups, and am very thankful for the encouragement, and wonderful comments she has given me. Rita works with architectural images in a fashion that is unique and and a constant inspiration. Her videos are further testimony of a great artist expanding the palette and creating excitement. (Thomas Neumann, German sociologist) In this sense, your photography has an order which normally can only be collected cartographic; it has a certain accuracy and suddenly also a surreal nature. Our eye is often adhering to a point, one thing although it is neither identified nor it has compositionally specificities; it emerges emotionally. It fits discreetly into the picture without entanglement in addition to this or that - but it reminds of something known, seen, although not necessarily from its appearance. Set in relation to time and present, a fragment of memory meets a particle of image: an episode in the fullness of life and the detail as an episode of the visible. Rita Vita Finzi non è una fotografa. Ciò può stupire al momento, ma solo se non si è approfondito il suo lavoro. Rita Vita Finzi è un'artista, nel senso più completo della parola. La fotografia è solo un suo mezzo di espressione, che in certi casi riesce a stento a significare il mondo di sensazioni che Rita ci dona. La padronanza del mezzo espressivo, portato sempre al limite delle possibilità, ci consente un'esplorazione dei confini dell'immagine, dall'astratto al concreto dal colore all'atonale che si mescolano con l'immaginario e il desiderio dentro di noi. Un lavoro che precede le tendenze, anzi le guida. Ringrazio Rita per avermi indicato tante altre strade all'arte.

Rita è una fotografa coi fiocchi e i controfiocchi, ha un senso estetico stupefacente, un'eleganza, una sobrietà quasi nipponica e la post produzione non ha segreti per lei. Si percepisce cultura e generosità in ogni suo scatto e in ogni suo commento, se su Flickr si dovesse fare la conta degli apocalittici e degli integrati su di lei non avrei dubbi: apocalittica. E' stato un dono inaspettato conoscere( virtualmente of course) lei e il suo club di simpatiche bambinacce al quale vorrei immodestamente aderire al grido di: le brave bambine vanno in paradiso ma quelle cattive vanno dappertutto!

Rita Vita Finzi da Ferrara, penso proprio di poterlo dire, è un gran pezzo di fotografa! Ha classe da vendere e conosce bene quasi tutti i trucchi del mestiere. E’ stata beneficiata dalla sorte che le ha regalato un carattere solare e le ha anche concesso di vivere in uno dei più begli angoli di questa nostra italietta: due vantaggi non da poco, per chi ami la fotografia! Il delta del grande padre fiume, la bassa, malinconica ma sensuale, gli stradellini guelfi e le torri merlate sono un inarrivabile teatro di posa e lei ci si muoveva con sapienza e mestiere, regalandoci immagini veramente squisite. La sua produzione ha tuttavia subito una grandissima influenza da un viaggio, un bellissimo viaggio a Ulan Bator, Mongolia. Sembra che tutto sia avvenuto nella ger del ministro dei trasporti Setsen Khaan. Una ger principesca, arredata con mobili di arte povera mongola (anche i mongoli ricchi usano i mobili di arte povera. L’arredamento di arte ricca è introvabile, in Mongolia, da oltre sei secoli). Nella ger bruciavano incensi inebrianti, e dieci musici suonavano arpe e cembali in suo onore. Setsen Khaan, che lei chiamava già affettuosamente Setsen Khaan, era abbigliato alla moda dei suoi avi, con una lunga tunica in raso damascato trattenuta sulla spalla da una borchia d’oro di tre etti. Da sola valeva quasi un terzo del PIL nazionale! L’atmosfera era magica. La musica sempre più dolce e l’incenso sempre più inebriante…. E tutto questo fu fatale alla Rita Vita Finzi! Volle farlo, volle, a tutti i costi, coronare il suo sogno di fanciulla! Quello di fotografare un mongolo, un mongolo vero. Per poi raccontarlo alle amiche flickeriane e farsene vanto, forse per sempre! Si alzò per sistemarsi con la luce alle spalle, secondo i più collaudati canoni della fotografia mondiale e, mentre Setsen Khaan aggiustava la scimitarra e lucidava la spilla, fece un passo in avanti…che ci fu fatale. Eh si, CI fu fatale, a tutti noi! La Rita Vita Finzi inciampò sul bordo del tappeto mongolo e cadde rovinosamente sul tavolino di onice che reggeva il poderoso braccio di Setsen Khaan. Lei non si fece nulla, ma il suo zoom 18-55 andò in mille pezzi! E…non solo non le fu possibile scattare QUELLA foto, ma nessun’altra foto…normale. Le è rimasto, oltre a un indicibile magone per l’occasione perduta, solo un obiettivo macro, con il quale è possibile fotografare da un minimo di 3 a un massimo di 10 centimetri dal soggetto. Da allora Rita Vita Finzi fotografa solo fiori. Bellissimi, affascinanti, ma FIORI. Finchè non ottiene una promozione dal suo dirigente, non potrà permettersi l’acquisto di un obiettivo normale! Per cui…fiori. Cio è. Eventuali altre immagini del suo strema sono scattate con la Lumix della Susi, quella senza il mirino. La Susi (che è buona) gliela presta. Ogni tanto. Io voglio bene alla Rita Vita Finzi!

La passione per le fotografie di Rita risale agli inizi della mia presenza in Flickr. Ho visto una sua opera in un gruppo e sono letteralmente rimasta folgorata: quel piccolo albero scuro e completamente solo sotto ad un cielo plumbeo mi è piaciuto a tal punto che, seduta stante, ho deciso che avrei seguìto quella via. Non a caso il mio primo lavoro di fotomanipolazione mi ha portata a creare uno scatto ad immagine e somiglianza di quell'albero che mi aveva così colpita. You’re one of the photographers on Flickr who succeeds in making lovely pictures, using photoshop technics in a serious, delicate way, without abusing them. Se si ama la fotografia, scorrendo con lo sguardo, non troppo velocemente, le foto nello stream di Rita Vita Finzi, ci si accorge che il comune denominatore tra tutte sono l'eleganza e la raffinatezza che lei riesce a fondere nei suoi soggetti portandoli ad un livello d'eccezione. La cosa che mi meraviglia, ogni qualvolta guardo le sue foto, è che mi dispiace congedarmi da loro, quasi fosse il momento di dare l'addio ad una cosa per la quale nutro un affetto particolare.
