candid, lomo, macro, action

i'm rita. young heart with an old soul. born and raised in the beautiful northwest as an island hippie. i'm married to my writing, but photography is my mistress. please don't rat me out.

i've been shooting for about eight years now. i adore and use each of my 12 cameras, the majority film -- fisheye, canons, polaroid, minoltas, viviter, etc. until i have my own darkroom, though, my wallet prefers digital (boo). my dslr nikon d70 18-70mm lens has had the most action for the past five years.

i've never taken a photography class; i prefer learning from experience. i stay away from posed portraits. my pictures are untouched by photoshop. i don't enhance my photos with special effects or lenses of phone-cameras. i'm a firm believer of reality in its raw form. i allow photos to find me in their natural state.

i am a very passionate person, so my photos are emotional and sentimental. the majority of them are not perfect, happy, or clear. i hope they are able to move you.
