Shi Shi 1970 - came to SDZ 1996
Gao Gao Born 1989-90 Rescued from the wild arrived at San Diego Zoo January 15, 2003 replaced Shi Shi as Bai Yun's breeding partner, he has sired 5 cubs through natural breeding. He and Bai Yun are the only natural breeding pair of Pandas in the United States.
Gao Gao Update:
Returned to China, the land where he was born and rescued. He left San Diego on October 30, 2018 leaving many broken hearts behind. Although he is an older bear, 28, he traveled well and upon arriving at his destination he was out and about on day 1 exploring his new living quarters.
