I love looking at risumiru's photos. There is an austerity and strength in the images. Risumiru doesn't go for the easy effect--his images often gain strength through a limited palate, especially in the winter images of late. I am impressed at the constancy with which he adds to the rich pool of images he has made available on flickr. I am impressed with risumiru's vision--what he chooses to show us, as well as what he leaves out.

I first ran across risumiru two months ago and was immediately captivated by his work. He understands light at an instinctive level using it to evoke feelings of yearning and transendance. He is at his best in adverse conditions that would keep the majority of photographers at home lamenting the poor light or foul weather. In the two months I have been fortunate enough to view his photos I have been amazed at his improving camera technique. He often has a kind word for my photos and is willing to share what he knows when he can. Keep taking and sharing these fine photos with us!
