Awesomely awesome.

While I've been taking pictures for quite some time, it's only recently that I've been learning more about photography.

Last year, I got a new point and shoot to upgrade my 3.2 MP camera to an 8 MP one. It's also a camera with manual settings, so I can learn through experience about shutter speed, aperture, white balance, and other things. I've already failed at many of those things so far. =)

About three months after buying my point and shoot upgrade, I bought my first D-SLR. It's a Nikon D40, and so far, I love it! There isn't much this camera can't do, and if there is, I obviously don't need it.

My favorite thing about photography is that is gives me a creative outlet. I can't draw and I don't paint...but photography lets me capture a moment in time without having to be able to do either of those things. Almost every single one of my photos is not re-touched, because I fail at post-production software. Don't worry, I'll learn.

I'm open to suggestions. I'd love to hear your critiques on things. I want to learn all I can, so be honest! But don't be a douche.

And yes. There are an unnatural amount of kitty pictures here. They are my favorite models.
