A fotografia está inserida na minha vida desde a infância. Nos idos dos anos 50, morávamos numa Coudelaria do Exército em Conselheiro Lafaiete, afastada da cidade alguns quilômetros. Meu pai possuia uma câmera que não me lembro a origem e após fotografar ele mesmo revelava o filme e depois passava para o papel. Era o seu hobby numa época onde o rádio era o único meio de informação e lazer. Já adolescente em Juiz de Fora, eu e meu irmão (zecabr) compramos uma câmera Olympus (não reflex) e um ampliador e por um bom tempo fizemos tudo, desde os cliques, revelação e ampliação. Foi uma época boa , ficávamos horas no quarto escuro vendo surgir no papel a imagem tão esperada. Tudo em preto e branco. Mais tarde comprei um Yashica TL Elétrica, minha primeira reflex. Tenhos boas fotos feitas com essa câmera. Depois mais lentes para complementá-la e hoje tenho uma Nikon D-60 mas já pensando numa D-90. Como diz Zeca, meu querido irmão, o importante é quem está atrás da câmera. E com tudo isso, ainda não consegui uma foto da qual me orgulhasse. Hoje quero explorar o cotidiano, as expressões nos rostos, a natureza com tudo de belo e se contrapor às mazelas da vida, denunciando-as com a fotografia.
