I’ve been taking photos for as long as I can remember. Long enough that I sometimes lose track of time completely, standing there with a camera, caught in that familiar place where thinking quiets down and something else takes over.
Photography, for me, is a way of seeing. Or maybe remembering how to see.
When I’m in the zone, it feels less like I’m taking a photo and more like I’m noticing what’s already there, waiting to be noticed. Light, texture, stillness, movement, mood. I see beauty everywhere. Call it a filter, call it perspective, call it whatever you like. I’ve learned that beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.
The camera is my hope that the essence of what I see might make it through intact.
Since 2019, these images have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, which still surprises me. If you find yourself pausing on a photo here, sensing something familiar, peaceful, or quietly alive, then we’re already aligned.
I do offer prints for those moments that want to live beyond a screen. But more than anything, I’m glad you’re here, looking.
Rick
