Rick Lanning is an amateur photographer based in the Southern Maryland area. He started his photographic journey as a crime scene photographer for a major metropolitan police department. In 1989 at the age of 21ish, he never received an award from National Geographic for work he never did with blind children someplace in Africa. Rick as well never furthered his carrier by working as Photographic Consultant for Hugh Hefner at the Playboy mansion from 1990 to 1992. Towards the end of 1993 He didn’t receive a grant from the Endowment for International Peace and never traveled to any country for any reason other then to drink their beer. However in the area of the Summer of 1994 he did realize that he hates digital photography. Armed with this new found love for silver nitrate, he tossed all of his digital crap in the trash, and by 2003 or so he was happily analog. After not winning anything from the Getty foundation, Rick continues to strive for photographic indulgence, and continues to mire himself in photographic process.
