What is EarthCaust Photography?

I created this brand to help promote Conservation and the Importance of Nature through my art.

But why EarthCaust?

I chose this name as humanity is destroying Earth's nature and natural resources deliberately and inadvertently.

My name is Riche Rifkind, I was born in Edinburgh, but currently living in South America doing Voluntary and Charity Work. I am mainly helping develop a large photographic database for REGUA (Reserva Ecológica de Guapiaçu, RJ, Brazil) as well as doing research and Education within the local schools.

I started serious photography in 2006 as a hobby which has grown into what it is today.

I have a keen interest in all nature but my main passion is in Insect Macro Photography.

I also enjoy teaching children about nature.

You could say that my love of nature started as a child from watching fantastic television programmes by Sir David Attenborough among others and from playing/exploring outdoors.

"I know many talented photographers, but Riche surpasses them all. He has an amazing eye for detail and can capture the essence and character of whatever he photographs. He has a god given talent and is an artist"

Riche's Flickr photostream is well worth a visit. It's been good to see his work develop and improve as he's become familiar with his Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd and gone on to use his new and better Fujifilm FinePix S100FS. Being such a keen photographer has led him to be experimental with new techniques and openminded to new styles of photography and this is reflected in his photostream. He's very good at asking advice from other photrographers on Flickr. A good indicator of someone keen to gain experience and improve skills. He chooses a wide variety of subjects to photograph with a keen interest in macro images. The shots of orchids and insects are particularly striking. One excellent image of a damselfly won 'pic of the day ' in a Flickr group. However, this is my favourite image so far flickr.com/photos... I hope he takes his interest further and pursues a career in photography. Riche is a good critic and leaves valued comments. He has a wicked sense of humour and is a valued Flickr friend.
