Early 50's engineer needed a creative hobby and so tried to learn to use a DSLR. Lots of barriers - other demands on time, lack of patience, lack of talent

what do I want from Flickr - two things really - hence mixture of photos -

a) share with friends / relations (so snapshots OK)

b) get comment / feedback / "recognition" of my phots, and to learn from others that are so much better so I cna move beyond snapshots and learn t poduce worthwhile images
