I am part of the Kodak Instamatic generation. I never saw a woman with a “serious” camera until I was cruising the Rhine River in Germany one Sunday afternoon in the early 1970s. A long-time friend was snapping away with her SLR and I thought, “I’ll bet I can do that!” Before long I, too, was capturing scenes with my new Pentax SLR. More than 25 years later I said good-bye to a succession of film cameras and made the transition to digital. I continue to appreciate and enjoy technological advances as they pertain to life in general, and photography in particular. Yeah, I’m a bit of a techno-junkie, at least as far as my budget will allow.

As a retired ordained Presbyterian minister, I sees my photography as a form of worship, celebrating the beauty and miracle of God’s creation, and enjoying the ironies of our frail humanity. I see what I do as “praying with my eyes.” As I am encouraged and inspired by the photography of others, I hope that my own work will help viewers see their world through new eyes.

I live in Tacoma, Washington with my husband, John. I’m a member of the LensLearners photographers' group in University Place.
