Before I mention a few things about myself, I want to thank you, Lord Jesus, for walking with me every day and blessing me with Your perfect timing.
Hello, my name is Renee Lund, and I live in the cowboy state of Wyoming. Being a photographer in Wyoming affords me an abundance of "wild west" moments. Growing up our family had many horses and a father who was an accomplished horseman. It was in those young years I found an instant love for horses and recognized their worth. I was very close to my father; I guess I could be considered a "daddies' girl". He spent time teaching me to ride and how to care for a horse which meant feeding, cleaning stalls, and brushing down after a ride, etc. My father dreamed of seeing wild horses someday, but that day never came before he passed. The wild horses bring with them special memories and a remembrance of my father and a happy childhood that provides a nostalgic bond.
My wild horse photos are captured with my Nikon 7200 with my Sigma 150-600mm zoom lens.
Winter, it's the season I most cherish and enjoy photographing. Winter has a magical presence and brings on the warmth of the holidays. The landscape sleeps under a blanket of white so it is refreshed for Springs arrival.
The trace of warm cinnamon dancing on the air.
The joyous sound of bells from a horse drawn sleigh.
The delicious tastes of caramel and chocolate covered nuts.
The perfume from evergreens with snow laden branches and pinecone ornaments.
The calming effect from winters slowly falling snow.
Above all this, is the gift of grace that is bestowed upon me throughout every season of the year. I am blessed with the bounty and riches of Christ.
When I'm shooting winterscapes I use my Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens.
Here are some of the quotes and phrases that brings me comfort throughout my lifetime.
THE WALTON'S
*********************
“When you're old, you'll take comfort in knowing that the Mountain will endure long after you've turned to dust. The season will come and go, snow will fall, the land sleeps, the violets bloom, and the green leaves of spring come again. They grow for a summer and turn all their colors. And then the snow, and it goes on like this. It's the way of things.” ~ Grampa Walton
"You can't own a mountain any more than you can own an ocean or a piece of the sky. You hold it in trust. You live on it, you take life from it, and once you're dead, you rest in it." ~ Grampa Walton
Our mountain in winter is something to see at times it is just like a person to me. A giant in white all covered with snow it changes each day as the heavy winds blow. And when I'm alone and I go for a walk it's almost as if that old mountain can talk. It seems to say welcome my winter Friend I was here at the beginning; I'll be here at the end. ~ Ben Walton
"The dull and heat laden days of August, the endless leaden dog days vanished in a rainstorm, and September dawned bright and sparkling and sunny. The foliage began to turn lemon yellow, watermelon red, russet, and gold and bronze, the woods were afire with color but clean and chilled by an autumn wind. ~ John Boy Walton
In Autumn when the leaves are gold and russet and lemon yellow and apple red, people drive for hundreds of miles to refresh their souls and their spirit with beauty." ~ John Boy Walton
A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT
********************
“Of course, now I am too old to be much of a fisherman, and now of course I usually fish the big waters alone, although some friends think I shouldn’t. Like many fly fishermen in western Montana where the summer days are almost Arctic in length, I often do not start fishing until the cool of the evening. Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.” ~ Norman Maclean

"Still round the corner there may wait, A new road or a secret gate". “The Lord of the Rings: One Volume”, p.65
"You can only come to the morning through the shadows".
"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost".
"I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently. And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, 'go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again."
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Renee has one of the best photographic "eyes" I have seen. Her nature shots are unequaled in composition. I truly love her work. I hope to meet her some day.
