P.S. I have a problem with cats and a bit with clowns.. so showing me a photo example with cats and/or clowns in them will freak me out though I try to keep it together. Clowns are more tolerable.

MY HISTORY

I am not a photographer but I like taking photos of anything and everything. Photography is a (sort of) recent hobby of mine.

Back in the 90s

My interest in taking photos started when I was rather young, back in the film days. I never really did got to really shoot film because as they were costly back them, I was never allowed to use the camera. The closest I got was holding the camera and pretending I was shooting.

Sometime between 2002-2006

Come high school, I won a free disposable waterproof film camera (a department store promo) with only 20 shots in. I went trigger happy when we went to the beach the following day and who knows whatever happened to those shots.. If I remember correctly, the grown ups only had some of the photos developed but I never got to see mine. :/

2009 - And then came digital

Then came digital.. During our college ed tour I convinced my mom to let her lend me her point and shoot, which I just learned recently (March 2012) was a Canon S50. This was the very 1st time I really got to use a camera for an extended period of time. I was around 18.

But my shots were just snapshots..

2010 - Finally

Come college graduation, I somehow convinced my parents to buy me my very 1st camera. This time it really is mine and mine alone! Bwahahah!! >:D

Actually, to be precise, I got the camera about a day or 2 before the graduation ceremony hehe..

That camera is my dear buddy, a point and shoot which I still use until now, a Canon Powershot G11. I was going to get a DSLR (Canon D1000) seeing as it was about the same price that time, but I asked myself: "Do you even have a friggin idea how to use that bulky thing?!?!".. No, I don't. T-T So I got myself a point and shoot. :D

I was going to get the lighter, smaller S90 which coincidentally was an upgrade of the S50! *O*

But I ended up with the G11 because it was easier to hold and the swivel screen really got me.

2011-2012

I've gotten a bit more into photography for about a year or so now but I have still so much to improve. Maybe I'll get myself a DSLR someday (or take my mom's haha), but not 'till I feel like I deserve it.

Right now photography comes in 2nd (or 3rd) as I still have to focus on something heavy --> Med school. T-T

2012-2013

Finally got to learn using my mom's DSLR and now the sort of owner hehehe.. Learned a lot the past year. Got myself a prime lens (35mm 1.8) though still using my mom's D5000. Been inactive here on flickr but been learning shooting. A lot has changed since I've been away. Hoping to learn more.

2015

My G11 retired T-T... Getting it fixed the 3rd time just got to expensive considering it's almost 5 years old.

2016

(May 13, 2016 Friday the 13th!) Finally my first DSLR! Nikon D5500. My first DSLR that I can really call mine. Cheers to more shooting!
