I'm an amateur photographer who lives in Carrboro, NC and works in Durham, NC. I take photos because I enjoy both the process and the result. Since I'm most often in Durham during the day, that's where most of my photos are taken. I take photos of things that I think would make the kind of photo that I would want to look at. I'm often influenced by other photographers on Flickr--when I see someone doing something I think is cool, I think, "Hey, I want to try that!" They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and that is how it is intended.

I don't hate digital, but I do love film. Since early 2010 I've been developing all my own black and white film, and in 2011 I started processing my own color film as well. I scan my negatives with an Epson V500 scanner and do minimal editing to the scanned files (mostly adjusting levels and removing dust and cat hair) with the GIMP and Adobe Photoshop Elements.
