Graduate of SUNTEP Prince Albert, Gabriel Dumont Institute (1990). Working on a Metis kinscape (concept by Brenda Macdougall) that overlaps family and community with landscape and mapping. This project includes the Metis and "halfbreed" communities between Muskoday and James Smith First Nations and the Saskatchewan River heading north toward Cumberland House, The Pas, Norway House and on to York and Moose Factory on the great bay. Red River community and connections included.
My grandmothers/grandfathers are of this land--from the great bay to The Pas, Cumberland House, Fort A La Corne, Glen Mary/Pahonan and Coxby. The south and north Saskatchewan Rivers were waterways that flowed through their lives giving both sustenance, mobility and community.
