Rebuilding Together San Francisco is a non-profit that has been rebuilding and repairing the homes of low-income San Franciscans and community facilities since 1989, following the Loma Prieta earthquake. Formerly called Christmas in April, we engage over 2000 volunteers, dozens of sponsoring companies each year as part of our 'Rebuilding Weekend' program on the last weekend in April. We also have a year round program, Home Safety and Independence, where volunteers install safety equipment (like grab bars and smoke detectors) and fix safety related issues in the homes of seniors and disabled people.
