I like wildlife, nature and history. Also I love sports, and photography. I am a supporter of conserving wildlife. I have the NJ wildlife license plate, which in 2019 funded the Bald Eagle species study. I am one of the few NJ residents who donates a good part of their NJ State tax refund to the DEP Endangered Species Fund. It is extremely important along the entire state of NJ to save crucial coastal habitats for beach nesting birds, allow the Delaware Bay horseshoe crabs to come to the beaches and lay their eggs, so the endangered Red Knot shorebirds can survive, and protect the saltmarshes to prevent inland flooding!!

I really love saltmarshes, marshes, wetlands and impoundments in NJ, PA and DE because the wildlife thrives there. I also like historic architecture, industrial environments and a waterfront that an older port city like Philadelphia has.

I grew up in California; when I was 10 I moved to Pennsylvania. I've been a resident of New Jersey for over a decade. My Grandma lived in Delaware where I spent a lot of time as a kid. In the 2010s, I spent time rediscovering the State through birding. Also my sister has been living in Seatte and Port Angeles Washington for almost 10 years, so I've had opportunities to do some NW birding.

In 2012 I decided I wanted to take pictures of birds, with no knowledge of birds or photography. I wanted to do this because I thought it would be a difficult and fulfilling challenge for me for a long time: 1. ticking bird species seen and getting photos of every species possible, 2. understanding the bird habitats, migrations and problems associated with them.

Since joining eBird in 2013, I have identified 302 species, and I have photos of 209 species. I'm proud of that! Since 2019, the Group Me app participation related to NJ and Telegram app for Philly PA birds have been extremely helpful.

Many bird species still to get pictures of in my tri state area. On my personal must-see list are these birds: Bobolink, Dickcissel, Longspur, Meadowlark, Northern Bobwhite, Lincoln Sparrow, Clay-colored Sparrow, Grasshopper Sparrow, Crossbills and Redpolls. Blackburnian Warbler, Worm-Eating Warbler, Golden winged Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Mourning Warbler, Connecticut Warbler, Tennessee Warbler. Evening Grosbeaks, Yellow throated Vireos, Philadelphia Vireos.

Herons, Egrets, Rails, Bitterns, Ducks, Grebes, Loons, Mergansers, Plovers, Shorebirds, Terns, Alcids are my favorites to find. Migrating Warblers, Vireos, Tanagers, Thrushes, Flycatchers and Sparrows are always a challenge.

I work for Starbucks and before I worked for them I was a daily customer. It is a great company to work for. I especially enjoy making coffee beverages for others.

I am a global sports fan, as well as a Philly sports fan.

I like taking pictures because you don't have to sell them to anyone and it provides creativity for me.
