Artist Statement

"The inspiration of my design approach roots from the societal impact that graphic design creates through appealing visuals, using colors to represent emotion, shapes to create symbolism, and text to enhance composition. I am motivated to design by the sense of community created in the art field, further driving me to compose designs which helps society perceive information through a creative outlet. Using Adobe Creative Suites, I am able to create graphic designs relating to my creative style, using a soft color palette and minimalistic works. For example, I craft invitations and covers as a way to appreciate and showcase beautiful, lesser known people and their culture in order to bring more light to life.

The most exciting aspect of design is the outcome of seeing the ways in which I incorporate design principles by creating contrast, balance, and unity, and an overall appealing visual hierarchy. Since I have started my graphic design journey, I have realized that it is not only a career that I wish to pursue, but has also affected my perspective and ways I perceive my day-to-day life. Through graphic design as a field, I can share experiences, thoughts, and idea with people and re-visualizing their ideas through my craft."
