This element of the project is part of the University of Reading's WW1 commemorations. The clock tower memorial lists those fallen servicemen with a connection to the then Reading University College. The Memorial was formally dedicated on 7th June 1924. in the University Archives a volume has recently been found which contains photographs of many of these men. The digitsed images can be found on this site along with a brief service and personal history as well as information on their connection to RUC if known. Not all servicemen have a photo in the memorial book and an image of the relevant section of the list from the book has been included with the aim they will be replaced by contributed images.

The aim of this Flickr site is to make our valuable research available and invite others to add additional information on the servicemen. This will help ensure that the important and heroic contribution of these men is remembered and appreciated.

Please note that we have checked the information on each serviceman carefully but errors may occur. Information largely comes from 1911 census records, WW1 service records, War Graves Commission records and the University of Reading Archive.
