I've been into photography since I was 7, when my father bought a used enlarger and set up a darkroom in the house. I still remember the awe at seeing a picture emerge from nothingness in the developing tray...

Since then, I've tried many different kinds of photography. The most technically demanding of these was astrophotography, which had a steep learning curve and required enormous patience (and very expensive gear!). Since moving to the poor skies of Southern California (near LA), I've getting more into portrait and landscape, and am starting to learn how to use off-camera flash (thanks to strobist!).
