I've admired great photos for so long and just assumed that only those with great artistic ability could ever take eye catching photos.

Before I'd been introduced to this amazing hobby I'd spent most of my life running my business and was one of those people that only saw what was directly in front of me, a bit like a horse wearing blinkers.

A dear friend who was a pro photographer persuaded me (as he was losing his fight against cancer) to take off my blinkers, open my eyes to all around me and to capture any image that grabbed my attention. He told me my life would be enhanced in so many ways. So back in the summer of 2011 I bought myself a DSLR camera and freed myself up some time to start learning!

UPDATE - After having been fortunate enough to travel to some amazing countries in the past 2 years I've also realised that I have seen far too little of the UK so 2017 will be a year of touring the British Isles for me instead. If any fellow photographers out there fancy hooking up for a shoot anywhere in the country give me a shout and we'll see what we can do when I'm passing by :-)
