"rcm Imaging" engages in commercial-related and documentary/editorial imagery supporting a variety of projects to include training and educational materials, marketing, public speaking, commercial activities. Images can and are produced in the studio, but more frequently, production occurs on location. Subject matter varies depending upon the project, but the “sweet spot” for rcm Imaging has been projects related to the greater homeland security enterprise, including emergency preparedness and response, critical infrastructure protection, counter-terrorism and terrorism interdiction, security and safety, active violence response, and command/leadership. The audience for and client base includes both public and private organizations, agencies, and systems.

Rick Mathews, founder and chief creative, has extensive experience as a practitioner and academic within these spaces. His future, he thought as he was preparing to graduate high school, was going to most likely be in phot journalism. He sold his first print photographs before graduating high school, and he continued freelance work as he was beginning his college studies. Alas, parental, familial, and “friends, strongly encouraged him to go a different route as they thought an alternative way would be more financially viable. As it turns out, he ultimately earned undergraduate and graduate degrees before embarking on a career path that primarily involved his service to others – mostly government-centric agencies and departments at all levels. Despite this, his internal passion did not stray far from his love of photography. In fact, he found it most useful in his career of training and educating others, among other practitioner and leadership roles.

After leaving the public sector, he has established a small group of private sector operations that focus on training, homeland security, and imagery. The small group is organized under The Mathews Group, LLC, and includes "rcm Imaging'" the "Center for Counter-Terrorism Training (C2T2)," and "Mathews & Associated Consulting Services."
