Hi, my Flickr friends:

Fate has it that I started taking pictures in the summer of 2009. It has become my primary hobby in addition to drawing this year and propels me in many different ways in life. I am not quite sure where this is going to lead me. Let's just wait and see....

Recently I had discovered that I have this insatiable desire for "intimate encounters" in the world of close-up photography of flower and nature. The world of close-up photography serves up a bounty of texture-filled images: petal, leaf grain, dew, wood, stamen, insect eyes, frost and even pond scum. It is often the texture within a close-up photography that awakens our senses the most.

Then I came to the realization that the desire comes from the strong human need and drive for intimacy. It is all about connecting, about feeling we are a part of something outside of ourselves, and it is in close-up photography that we can, if only for a moment, be a part of something that most people have otherwise not noticed. This is what makes it so special and motivates me to keep looking into that world. Because we know in the world of seemly familiarity, they are different, and we want to not only connect with the close-up world but share that world with the greater world at large.

No matter where we are in our journey, we always have the option of stopping, surveying the the scene before us, and making the decision as how and when to preserve what we see. We've all heard of and seen, either in pictures or in person, the Seven Wonders of the World, but the photographer with the sensitivity for the close-up world will soon see the Seven Million Wonders of the World.
