I started digiscoping in the early 1980s with a Swarovski 80HD + Nikon 990 before moving to Canon. As I got on in years equipment weight became an issue so I turned to mirrorless (OMD5). It didn't take long to miss the full-frame of my Canon 5D and in early 2000 I moved over to Sony (A6000/6400/6600 /A7r/A7R2/A9ii). Sony allowed to experiment with vintage film lenses as well as projector/fixed camera lenses adapted for NEX use. In 2019 I became a Catadioptric lens convert. 17 different copies at my peak. In 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic arrived in Melbourne. Now in my mid-70s I had my 'Health card' well and truly punched in late 2023. 12 Oct 2024 marked my 1st post diagnosis year. Meanwhile I have sold many/most of my vintage MF and mirror lens including my Minolta RF 250mm f5.6, Minolta RF 800mm f8 (white), my rare Voigtlander RF 500/8 and the legendary MF Nikkor 300mm f2.8 ED. My reliance on my Sony 9ii + Sony 200-600mm as my standard gear is ending. As one door closes another opens. Moving on 'invictus maneo' I converted my OMD-10 mk2 to full-spectrum use. Together with Kolari IR filters a new albeit difficult new world has opened to me - INFRARED.
