Uh, I fidget a lot? So doing things like taking pictures of my hoardings and scanning old negatives, photos, postage stamps, etc. keeps me happy.

I might have too many collections happening: planters, old handkerchiefs, vintage clothes, tins, vintage jewelry, old scarves, old figurines, old souveniers, postcards, old valentines and other greetings, records and old orphaned photographs.

Then there is the other category: plain ol' neat stuff.

I spent my childhood in antique stores with my parents while they tracked down depression glass and pressed glass patterns they were collecting. In the end, I ended up with an affection for old things and pre-disposed to forage for them.

My husband likes old stuff too, so we get along real well.

I also like to play around with photos on the computer a little bit – mostly tweeking, but there are times when I can't resist iPhoto and/or PhotoShop.

Only in the past couple of years have I really started trying to do more than family photos or the type I have to take on the job.

Had two semesters of black and white photography in college over 10 years ago, where we were told if you shoot an entire role and get even one good photo, you're lucky. Still surprised when I get a half-decent photo.
