EVERY photo on my site I have personally taken. This may be an amazing thing for some folks. "No way you took that concert photo" -- someone said to me recently. Well, yes. I did.
Born and raised in the Seattle area, I've dabbled in photography since I was a kid with a tiny camera. I've been taking photos at concerts for various publications since 1998. Ironically, despite attending and shooting photos of several hundred artists since then, I had never been to a concert until my freshman year in college. One of the greatest moments in my life is when I began teaching my nephews how to express themselves with a camera. The name Razing Culture comes from an arts column I used to write in college. The icon I've chosen was created by my favorite artist in the world -- Xu Bing, a Chinese wood block artist who pushes the boundaries of what is acceptable in his culture. He inspires me with his art work and the various meanings that his art contains. He created an entire new caligraphy style using English. So, in case you can't see it, because I'm told some people can't, the icon actually says STEVEN. For more on Xu Bing, visit his Web site:www.xubing.com/
