My interest in photography began in 1976 when I visited relatives in Canada. I bought a Praktica ltl slr camera as I knew I would be traveling through the Rocky mountains. The resulting photos were most encouraging and after attending night classes and reading various books and magazines, I was well and truly hooked. My equipment was upgraded and I started taking on weddings and other work. Fast forward to the nineties were after a brief course with the PAGB, I was appointed a judge for the Yorkshire Photographic Union. Then in may 2000 I was successful in being enrolled a licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain ( L.R.P.S. ) at my first attempt.

I was a late convert to digital photography as I purchased my first DSLR, a Canon 350D in 2006, this was upgraded to a Canon 600D which in turn was replaced by a Canon 80D. I have an Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer which produces very good quality prints that have won many of my camera clubs competitions. I am enjoying my photography more than ever especially since joining Flickr and find that viewing the work of many superb photographers truly inspirational.

I am now proud to be a member of Brooklands Photographic Society in Sutton-on-Hull, were I have served on the council in the capacity of competition secretary for a good number of years.
