Born and bred in Halifax, West Yorkshire. I have had a lifelong interest in railways. I was in my teens in the seventies and took many slides of the railway scene in both the UK and Germany. This covered the end of the hydraulics on the Western region, and the end of steam in West Germany.

I have digitised my collection and bit-by-bit will share some of the photos on Flickr.

I was a student in Devon, but settled down in Birmingham, where I have lived for more than 40 years. In the digital era, I will take the occasional photo of something of unusual or special interest.
