I am an artist, a sculptor in wood. I was born in 1950, raised in Charlotte, NC, and now live in Oakland, California.

I have been making art since junior high school, painting until 1979, then switched to wood carving. After 20+ years as a carver (although I continue to carve when the spirit moves), I now make wall-hanging pieces from a variety of hardwoods and other, mostly organic materials, based on photographs that I edit on my Macintosh computer.

I taught art history, and worked in art museums in Ohio and Maryland until MS, which showed itself in 1976, forced me to quit, but which enabled me to concentrate on our family's home life, and my work as an artist.
