Raven nightmares...wow. I once said that the thing I love about Raven is the feeling his images evoke. He has an amazing talent for giving me a slight chill. It's partly scary and partly exciting; his images hint at the unknown, and it both scares and tantalizes me. I imagine it's what the classic Dracula-flick heroine feels when being seduced by the vampire. I just love it. But Raven also has the knack for finding beauty in decay. When I look at some of his images, I swear I can smell the must of old mothballs and antique lace. However, his name to the contrary, viewers should not think that Raven is limited to dark images...flipping through his photostream, one is sure to be struck by the vivid images of life and passion tucked in amidst the spookier fare. But if there is one thing I can say about all his images universally, it is that they all have this ethereal quality to them - each one is viewed as if in a dream. Nightmare or no, I don't want to wake up from Raven's dream.
