I didn't start photography seriously until January 2009 at age 52.....currently a dog with a bone making up for some lost time. Special thanks to my friend and mentor Rob Miller www.flickr.com/photos/rob_miller_imagetree for pulling me in and teaching me things I'd not heard of before ;-) Special thanks also to my very patient and long-suffering subjects who put up with my grunting and procrastination with amazing grace. Love you all! To be able to work in such an atmosphere of warmth, tenderness and (way too much) laughter is a rare privilege.

I must make mention of Gorgeous M who I first shot in Jan '09 when she was just 18....we went on to shoot many times in the following years, often alone, and the rewards both photographic and personal ( she's truly the World's Funniest Person ) remain embedded in my memory forever. Shooting her wedding and then again at 8 months pregnant was the icing on a very rich cake.

I am grateful to my muse who changed the way I shoot and helped me find my photographic identity...goodbye, farewell & amen.

If I could offer advice it would be this : stay the hell away from forums, buy books and learn about the greats and endeavour REALLY hard to control your GAS....there's a camera out there for everyone so pick one that suits YOU. And don't let anyone tell you what or how to shoot - unless they paid for your equipment and education ;-)

Here's to further adventures on the road to seeing....

One breath....one word....one spark....eyes full of wonder.

Update : as of mid June 2023 I am retired....this leaves more time for photography, grandson, granddaughter and generally getting away from a world wilfully spiraling into chaos....

Perhaps I should consider a - dare I say it - project ;-)
