I love God and His creation and the wonderful things that His created beings can do. The vast variety of the plant and animal life on this earth and the wonderful landscapes that I see on Flickr attest to his glory.
I am married to a wonderful woman (since 1984) and have 3 boys (born in 1985, 1988, and 1992).
I am a software engineering manager and have done both hardware electronics and software engineering in my career.
I live in Newbury Park, California. The city is actually Thousand Oaks, but the postal code is Newbury Park. The city is in the Conejo Valley, Ventura County. It is only 10 miles or so to the Pacific Ocean as the crow flies.
I enjoy taking pictures and looking at other's pictures. I pursue it for the fun today and the future enjoyment. The photographic skill I see on Flickr every day is inspiring.
I take daily walks with my dog, Yoshi, every morning (and usually a short one in the early evening). He is the best dog I have ever had and he gives me a lot of pleasure.
I enjoy playing the occasional round of golf, walking, cycling, and photography.
My wife and I just spent 7 years living the high school marching band and drum corps experience with our 2 oldest boys. We chaperoned, took pictures, made props, cooked and served lots of meals, raised a lot of money, produced DVDs, and generally had a great time doing it.
My family likes to travel (Victoria, Vancouver, Portland, Seattle, Florida, Boston, Norfolk, New York, Denver, England, Scotland, San Francisco, San Diego, Denver). We drove from Thousand Oaks, CA to Norfolk, VA and back a few years ago and saw a lot of this wonderful country. I just wish I had been more serious about photography back then.

Randy, A pleasure to have you as a contact. Really enjoyed your profile, the best ever. Wonderful photography, enjoyed immensely what I have seen of your photostream, just taking my time. You have reason to be very proud of your family. Bill

I was impressed with the wonderful collages he made of his sons. He also has one of the cutest dogs, Yoshi! Randy has led an interesting life and he shares his thoughts and feelings in his work. I also like that he leaves genuine comments when he visits my photostream and has become a valued friend on Flickr. Thanks, Randy!

I've seen Randy's work around these parts for quite some time. He's obviously a loving and devoted husband and father. You can see his heart in almost every photo of his family. His photography is filled with care and thought and his edits are imaginative and inspiring. He and his wife are proud Marine Corps parents like my husband and I and I've learned so much from his photos of his son Stephen who is proudly serving our country. Randy's photographs are a reflection of his love for family, God, and Country and I truly admire that. In here, we are mostly strangers, but we are also a sort of family. Randy, in my opinion, is a magnificent addition to our Flickr Family.
