Once again I thank everyone for their kind comments on my work. Much nicer and means much more then those blinking group awards.
Due to limited time it sometimes takes me time to acknowledge all those comments.

I have a handful of shots that I want to upload but the Server has been screwed up for over a week.
They have a hotline at the Electric Company but that leads only to call center. Hard to make contact with anyone in any business, they all operate call centers that do little or nothing.
To all my FLICKR friends I say thanks for your kind words and comments. All are appreciated.

I am just now back from 8 days in Singapore where I was visiting a good friend that I used to work for. He is now retired and living his life out in the city he loves.

Dec 2015
I am now back in Tagaytay City in the Philippines. I have spent the first month catching up on things needing doing and other odds and ends. I am ready for the next adventure.

Call me a cranky old bastard and you are probably right but for God's sake I do not capture images. I take pictures.. I shoot pictures and the word capture offends me.. It seems to come from a place from before there were photographers, or perhaps after. I don't know. But for those who would call me friend please know that I do not capture images. I photograph people, places and things things. I try to find meaning in the universe around me. Baring that I just do my best to show it as it is without being pretentious.
Good luck and God Bless.
Stay in touch with me if you wish, I am happy to talk with one and all.

I am now speaking in my CRANKY OLD BASTARD persona again.
If you like my work just post a comment The glittery and often annoying awards distract from the comment thread which developed and is interesting in its own right.
I have been threatened with an attack of SWEEPERS if I do not post so many and award so many.... To be honest I have no idea what a sweeper is, nor do I care.
If you like my work just post a comment and I will try to reply. That is enough. It is your friendship and kind words that are appreciated and as I say that is enough.

More Cranky Old Bastard thoughts...
Every now and again I come across an insipid comment by someone saying:
"Great Bokhe"
Really???
--------------------------------------------------------------. --------------------
I have been reviewing very many Flickr pages and I have found much of value. Some really great and creative work out there. One the other hand there are some things that I find disquieting, maybe that is the way they are intended but I just think it goes counter to all the good work I have seen.
I am talking about a large number of sites (many of them women photographers) That seem to have a lot of nude bodies smeared in blood. Many images are the often gruesome scenes that are portrayed, I suppose that they are to be nightmares. For a man with insomnia for over 30 years and horrible nightmares enough on his own, I find stuff like that sophomoric and without worth. Now having said that I am sure someone will verbally pounce on me for venting my feelings. So be it. It is what it is and find value where you must. Just don't expect me to heap praise on things I find valueless. I get all the zombies I need from THE WALKING DEAD.
I know I was born in the wrong century but what ever happened to the love and worship of beauty? Isn't there enough horror in today's real world?
================================================
I wanted to make mention that my contact list has grown huge so I will be trimming it down. I have noticed that there are a lot of people that have not updated their photo files for many years. Currently if you have not posted anything for a year or more I have to assume that you are no longer participating and I am deleting you.
==============================================Mid October I will be traveling to Singapore to spend a week with a great friend and retired boss from my Diego Garcia days. He has a very expensive and extensive whiskey collection he has worked long and hard on acquiring. I expect we will do due diligence and severe damage to the lot. He was a good friend and we battled many dragons together, most of them we actually ended up winning..... It will be good to see him again after all this time. Good friendships are forever and better for rejoining. I expect we will have many good meals out on the town as well as the whiskey since Singapore is a culinary delight. Pick you poison or pick you cuisine and you will get the best. If you have never been there, it is a great place to be if you are hungry and like good food.
The week after that I will return to my place in Tagaytay City in the Philippines, on the slopes of Taal volcano. It will be good to get back there again and far away from the rat race. where I contemplate what I want to do with the rest of my life.

I want to thank all the people who thought enough of my pictures to give them awards. It is much appreciated. The same for those who have added my pictures to groups.
What is not appreciated is the threat to remove the photos If I do not rush over and award several pictures already in the group with the threat of quick removal if I do not do as told. In that case, please do not waste either of our time.
Giving an award should be dependent on the quality of the image not quid pro quo.
(That is my cranky old bastard persona speaking.)
Thanks to all...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Another thought on Group invitations... Maybe it is just me being inept but I have received quite a few group invitations asking me to post pictures in their group. Mostly every time I try to post the image gets rejected. What gives???
Don't wast my time unless your system actually works.

I am addicted to photography and playing with the results as it strikes me at the time. Life is too short to take it seriously. I have spent years in the far flung corners of this old world and have seen strange and terrible things. I have seen executions in Viet Nam during the war and I have seen the beheadings in Saudi Arabia. Now it is time for me to enjoy my work.
I recently had some young stud castigate me on Flickr because he found my technique with one of my HDR images not up to his standards. I simply blocked him and his offensive wordings. I do believe you can criticise someones work in a positive and constructive manor without going for their throat in a hateful way.
Besides, sometimes the devil gets in me an I like to play with my work. When that happens, play I will if if you don't like what I've done I thank you for stopping by and I hope you find someone more to your taste here on FLICKR. God knows there are many impressive talents here that are willing to share their work and their thoughts.

Hi Randy what a stunning gallery pictures, subjects, light, models all sound well. It is really a pleasure to stroll on your stream

I am not of the habit to write many testimonials because, as most people, I'm just too busy... however, when I come across photographic work that just blows me away, I feel compelled to do just that. I discovered Randy's work because he showed some appreciation of my work on Flickr, which led me to him. Randy has a style all his own... from his portrait work, and I especially love his black and white portraits, to his awesome "at sea" work of submarines and ships, and everything in between... they are absolutely some of the best on Flickr, if not the best. Randy thank you for being such an inspiration to all of us on Flickr. Wishing you well with your eye surgery and a speedy recovery! Saludos from Chile!
Read lessWoW ... Great work. It's a pleasure to look at your gallery.
Randy is an outstanding photographer. Virtually each of his photos is a real jewel. Take time to go through his photo stream. Most lack the number of faves that I believe they should have. Take time and enjoy and fave his photos.
An amazing B&W stream. Lawrence of Arabia meets Herb Ritts...
Love your work!! Hope to learn from you as we walk this path together on Flickr
