Some 20 odd years ago, I spent lots of time behind my Nikon FM and in the dark room developing black & white prints. Over time, my interest for photography succesively gave way for other interests, until early 2009 when I bought a Nikon D300 and a copy of CS4. I now spend a considerable amount of time pursuing photography as a hobby, with the odd freelance job snuck in between. I have found Flickr to be an invaluable resource for finding inspiration in other people's work, for sharing my work with with friends, family and the Flickr community, and above all to get critique to help me improve.

I find lots of inspiration from people like Greg Heisler, Joe McNally, Dean Bradshaw, Annie Leibovitz, and many other great contemporary photographers. Most of what I do in CS4 I have learned from José María Mellado's excellent books, and I am for ever grateful to David Hobby for all I know about lighting. And also to Zack Arias' OneLight workshop.

But mostly, I just keep realising how much I have left to learn...

I dearly welcome your comments and faves, but please don't put banners and other advertisements in your comments, because I'll probably delete them. And if you collect porn (i.e. beyond artistic nude), out of respect for my models, please don't fave my photos. I will most likely block you if you do.

I am grateful and appreciative of those that add me as a contact, and always a little flattered, although I rarely reciprocate. If you are amongst the peple I have added to my own contacts, it is because I find your work truly inspiring and aspirational.

Thanks for stopping by, and good flicking.
