This testimonial is way overdue.... I could say that this beautiful person has a wonderful talent that she shares, with us, with each and every click of her camera, capturing gorgeous landscapes of the Canadian Rockies, rural living, and her untouchable rodeo portraits, but it wouldn't be nearly enough. Because, for me, it is the personality behind those photos that makes them SO special. She puts every ounce of herself into not only her photos, but the titles, comments, song lyrics, and poems that she adds to make it a much more enjoyable experience. Add to that one of the best collections of contacts on Flickr, and each post, along with the comment stream, is generally going to make you smile from ear to ear, as this horse trainer / kegel master matches her tack sharp wit with her contacts.... I haven't seen them get the best of her yet, but God love 'em, they keep coming back for more. :) Even though she is rarely scene in her photos, it is easy to see her spirit in each and every one! I'm very happy to have Marilyn as a contact.... for me, Flickr wouldn't be remotely the same, without her!

It is really a pleasure for me to write this testimonial about such a sweet, talented and wonderful girlfriend. It is long overdue. I have been on flickr for almost three years now and in that time I have not come across one other contact who has as much talent as Marilyn. She shines in her photographic skills. Whether she is shooting an action shot, landscape, fire or fun she always has it nailed to perfection. Her subjects are very interesting, thought provoking and enticing. She makes me feel a bit like a cowgirl (at least in my dreams). Her love of animals is evident in every shot. Horses are her life and no one shots them better. NO ONE. Sadie has become a part of my family through C.G stories and shots of her. Sweet Sadie the protector and the character of the ranch. Another characteristic of G.C.s talent is her wonderful ability to tell a story and get everyone on her stream involved. She is funny to the point of LYAO at times. A humor that is genuine and quick. Don't mess with her. Her most endearing quality though is to speak from the heart and tell the truth. When combined with her love of the mountains, her writing is thought provoking and sensitive. I come to her steam each day with a bit of flutter in my heart, just to be inspired or to share a laugh. She makes all of her contacts feel like they know each other and has actually brought some of us together in a way. I haven't been aware of Marilyn for too long, but from what I've seen and read, it is a pleasure to view her photos of her part of the world and she presents herself with true Western female grit. Not only do her images show the landscapes she views and traverses, but her words paint a portrait of a person who is genuinely funny, dead honest, compassionate and brainy. She is quite the philosopher and sometimes in very raw terms, but it is legitimate and real. It's an honor being one of her contacts. I hope you write a book someday......

A small tribute to Marilyn: My Shero, Flickr's most outstanding woman photographer, a most genuine human being who pushes the envelope when using her God-given gifts, the "female" counterpart of Ansel Adams . . . this fearless Cowgirl blazes trails like no one has ever dared ~ in REAL life! Her genuineness is laced with humor and a sharp wit, balanced with a rare sensitivity and bravery unknown to so many in this day and age. I hereby nominate this modern-day pioneer to receive the Pulitzer Prize for capturing some of the most astonishing moments in history. There is no award on flickr that comes close to complimenting her stunning photography and love of life. Marilyn, thanks for all you share with me and the general public. She is raw; personality and photographically speaking. No use of the photo-crutch (Photoshop), which is so heavily abused these days. To view her photographs is like to journey into a society that was prolific over a hundred years ago. Everything is simple, nature has her place, and Marilyn is smack dab in the middle of it. We see what she sees through her words and visual creations from a well known invention called the camera. She is practically a post card creating machine. But above all she takes the time and describes herself through the pictures she takes. A well thought out and sometimes over simply stating a way of thinking that most of us yearn for. Don't ask her opinion if you're just out for warm and fuzzies - cos you'll get the truth instead. Which is more valuable in the long run of course. We all have the opportunity to live our life to the full and she has grabbed the opportunity with both hands and any other limbs that are available.

As I begin this cowgirl write up ;~) there are so many words that come to mind to describe Marilyn and her photostream – unique, amazing, awe-inspiring, and hilarious are just a few! A friend once described her as the best giggle on Flickr, and she is all of that and more!! Marilyn has a gifted insight into the people and beloved creatures that inhabit her life. And she has a gifted ability to communicate this insight through her images and stories. More than one of her followers has suggested she write a book! She also has a way of drawing great comments and stories out of many of her visitors. The variety you will find here is truly astounding! Everything from grand mountain vistas to bull knackers! Be prepared to spend some time when you visit. Time studying the awesome (or hilarious :) images she presents. Time reading her stories and inspirational words.
